MMJ truck picking up strapped roof tile at a Florida supplier plant

The short answer

Florida concrete roof tile is made at Westlake Royal's plants in Lake Wales and Okeechobee, Eagle Roofing Products' plant in Sumterville and Crown's plant in Arcadia. MMJ's published pickups came from Westlake Royal in Lake Wales, Okeechobee and Pompano Beach. Every pickup starts with a released order from the supplier.

Which plants make concrete roof tile in Florida?

Four manufacturers' Florida sites appear below, with the tile MMJ has collected at each on its published jobs. The supplier's release decides which one a given order comes from.

The Delray Beach Estate job also started in Okeechobee; its record names the city and not the plant. Plant listings change, so the release paperwork is the final word on the pickup point. Names identify where tile is made and picked up, and no manufacturer sponsorship or endorsement is implied.

How do I know which plant my tile comes from?

The supplier's release names the pickup point. The plant is set by the product and the supplier, not by the hauler: in MMJ's records, Barcelona 900 came from Lake Wales and Saxony 900 Split Slate from Okeechobee.

Westlake pallets carry a label with the manufacturer's name, the tile profile and an SAP number, according to the QAI listing. On the Pompano Beach to Jupiter job, the pallet label confirmed the Saxony profile and the Slate Black Antique color for that load.

What does a plant pickup need?

  1. A released order and its order reference from the supplier.
  2. The designated pickup point and any pickup instructions.
  3. The tile profile, color and quantity, with field and trim pieces.
  4. The jobsite address, the requested date and the receiving contact.
  5. Whether MMJ also loads the roof, and when the roof will be ready.

With those details complete, MMJ is often able to deliver the next day. The lead time page covers route days and scheduling.

Can MMJ pick up from a supplier yard instead of the plant?

Yes. MMJ picks up released orders at any plant or supplier yard in Florida. Orders may be coordinated through suppliers such as ABC Supply, SRS Distribution and QXO; the names identify order routes and imply no endorsement.

Does MMJ haul clay tile too?

Yes. MMJ transports and loads concrete and clay roof tile, and its pickup experience includes Verea clay tile. Clay tile follows the same release, pickup and access review as concrete.
